Crystal Wars

Faction 6 of 6

Olympus

The storm answers to one king.

The last fragment to fall carried a mountain. On top of it stood marble temples, and in the temples, gods. Their names are Greek, and they will not answer to any other.

Zeus of Olympus, crowned in laurel, a thunderbolt raised in his fist.

Their story

How Olympus came to war

A Crystal Wars legend inspired by Greek mythology.

The mountain that fell

When the worlds shattered, Olympus crossed the void inside a storm. Marble steps ended in unfamiliar valleys; sacred springs ran into rivers no oracle could name. The gods had brought their mountain to Spes Mundus, but the crystal at its heart had cracked. Beyond its dwindling light, even divine promises began to fail.

The ember at the gate

Hestia’s priestess carried one ember from the first hearth to the mountain’s broken gate. Hoplites sheltered strangers beneath their shields, while the toxotēs watched the passes and the peltastēs ran messages between isolated camps. Each arrival brought a different account of the Shattering. None brought a road home.

Wisdom before conquest

Athena read the scars in the crystal and saw that lightning alone could not mend them. She sent the oracle to listen, the centaur to scout the forests, and Pegasus to carry word across the drifting lands. Her command was simple: learn who lives beneath these skies before deciding who must fall.

Old wounds, new allies

The cyclops raised stone shelters with hands once feared for their strength. Medousa guarded a refuge where no pursuer dared meet her gaze. Achilleus chased glory on the frontier, while Nike’s champion counted every life brought safely home as a victory. Olympus needed its legends, but Spes Mundus was changing what those legends meant.

The storm king’s oath

Zeus called a council beneath a ruined colonnade. There would be no second Titanomachia fought merely to prove who ruled the heavens. He swore that his thunder would defend the crystal and the people gathered around it. Yet when enemies massed below the mountain, the old hunger for conquest stirred again.

A light worth keeping

Now every shield wall, sacred offering, and summoned column carries that unfinished oath into battle. Athena seeks a future shared with the other fragments; Zeus demands the strength to secure it. Their crystal burns between wisdom and pride. Which promise Olympus keeps will be decided on the board.

Zeus

The king of the gods, crowned in laurel, enthroned on a storm. He has watched every war on the mountain, and he has never lost one.

Astrape strikes an enemy with Lightning for 9. Keraunos strikes for 16. Either way the bolt leaps to every enemy standing next to the one it hit, along rows and columns, and on from them.
